My client is looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their growing team based in Birmingham working on a wide range of projects within the civil engineering sector. This role will be covering works in Birmingham working on multiple small projects and managing a portfolio of works.
Main Duties
  • Support and mentoring of junior staff
  • Maximise profitability on contracts
  • Monitoring contract costs against budgets
  • Identifying potential risks and evaluate options for control
  • Preparation of estimates
  • Procurement of sub-contractors, including preparation of sub contract documents
  • Assessment and certification of interim and final payments to subcontractors
  • Preparation and agreeing main contract variations
  • Assist in the preparation of documents for resolution of disputes 
  • Ensure all work complies with quality, safety and environmental policies and the requirements of the company procedure
The ideal candidate must have experience working on civil engineering schemes including Highways, Structures, River Works and Flood Protection with a main contractor and experience as a SQS working with the NEC form of contract.
On offer for the Senior Quantity Surveyor:
A starting salary of between £50,000 - £60,000 depending on experience, car allowance or company car (Grade5) , 25 days annual leave + bank holidays, Life Insurance, Pension 6% matched, Remote / Flexible Working.
