Are you a Practitioner member of IEMA who is looking to join a growing SHEQ team across Thames and the South East?

Our client is a Tier 1 turnkey contract who deliver multidisciplinary design and build water and wastewater projects throughout the UK. With regional offices across multiple AMP 7 water frameworks, they are a key player within the UK water sector. Due to an increase in workload across Thames and South East Water, they are looking to recruit a Senior Environmental Advisor on a permanent basis to deliver environmental audits and support across multiple sites. Liaising closely with the end client and other supply chain partners, the main duties for the role will include;
  • Report to the National Environmental & Sustainability Manager
  • Produce environmental management plans (EMPs) for all schemes through close liaison with the design and site teams
  • Carry out audits and inspections on sites across the region in order to implement EMPs whilst complying with client specifications and legal requirements
  • Support external audits and undertake focused audits as required
  • Attend design review meetings when required to ensure environmental impacts are factored into schemes at design stage
  • Ensure that sufficient environmental content features in RAMS, making sure that activities with environmental risks are considered
  • Support the Sustainability Manager to drive continuous improvement of sustainability and environmental performance within the wider business
  • Advise, support and assist the wider project team to enable them to manage their own environmental and sustainability duties
  • Investigate environmental incidents to produce alerts and lessons learnt as required.
  • Report any environmental incidents to the end client and regulator where required
Experience Required;
  • Qualified in a relevant environmental discipline
  • Practitioner Member of IEMA
  • Excellent written, verbal communication and negotiating skills
  • IT skills
  • Ability to manage time and workload effectively
  • Full driving license due to travel demands of the role
