Job Title: Maintenance Assistant

Location: Leeds (LS9)

Pay Rate: Negotiable

Working Hours: 8am – 5pm

Duration: 1 Month

TSA are looking to recruit an Maintenance Assistant, to assist a highly established company work in a healthcare facility

Responsibilities:

  • To undertake a range of minor repairs, cleaning and planned maintenance tasks and carry these out quickly and efficiently to a high standard
  • To work with and assist other members of the maintenance team as required
  • To maintain a clean, comfortable, visually pleasing environment including the external + internal areas, courtyards, car park whilst also competent to carry out fire and smoke damper maintenance.
  • Carry out a range of minor maintenance, cleaning and repairs in accordance with relevant standards and operational procedures, for example ;Fabric repairs, painting, patch plastering, ceiling repairs, wall protection, glazing replacement, flooring repairs, Electrical maintenance and repairs, fitting new flexes  and plug tops to equipment, lamp cleaning and replacement, minor electrical repairs within the capability of the individual, portable appliance testing, Mechanical repairs tap re-washering, drain unblocking, pre-planned maintenance, water checks, minor steam system repairs FFE work, furniture repairs, fitting shelves Grounds and gardens, tidying, cleaning, pruning etc     
  • Minimise penalty deductions by responding in a timely manner to all maintenance job requests in accordance within the requirements of the Concession / Project Agreement.
  • Carry out duties in accordance with safe working practices within statutory, NHS, Trust and Company guidelines.
  • Have an awareness of the operational procedures and safe working practices applicable to the work in hand
  • Maintain records and complete service reports as appropriate.
  • Assist other members of staff in carrying out maintenance, repairs, testing, inspection and installation work.
  • Undertake training to maintain and develop the requirements of the service.
  • Carry out any other duties as required commensurate with grade.
  • Adjust working patterns or undertake overtime work as required to maintain the service or provide cover for absent colleagues
  • Minimise penalty deductions by responding in a timely manner to all maintenance job requests in accordance within the requirements of the Concession / Project Agreement.
  • Maintain a clean and visually pleasing internal and external appearance
  • Ensuring relevant compliance with the fire and smoke damper maintenance system
  • Carry out a range of cleaning duties such as cleaning of external facades and windows which include a significant element of working at height.
  • Carry out a range of minor maintenance PPM tasks on the fire and smoke damper system at Leeds Oncology in accordance with the relevant maintenance training and specification including British Standard and all other applicable guidance.
Requirements:

  • Must have a Standard DBS
  • Experience in a similar role
  • Experience in carrying out similar role
  • Have an understanding of the operational procedures and safe working practices applicable to the task
  • Ability to undertake minor maintenance tasks without direct supervision
  • Ability to work to pre agreed method statements designed to reduce the hazards associated with the task in hand
  • Have a basic understanding of building services/ fabric
  • Have an understanding of the operational procedures and safe working practices applicable to the task
